What It Costs to Install Flooring
Every flooring project is different, so we do not publish prices here. Instead, here is what drives the cost of a flooring job. The owner measures your space and gives you a clear, personal estimate.
Material type
The flooring you choose is the biggest driver of cost. Hardwood, luxury vinyl, carpet, laminate, tile and epoxy each carry different material price points.
Square footage
Larger areas use more material and labor. Bigger jobs can sometimes lower the cost per square foot, while small jobs may carry a minimum.
Removal of old floors
Tearing out and hauling away existing flooring, carpet, tack strip or old adhesive adds labor and disposal time.
Subfloor condition
Uneven, damaged or soft subfloors need leveling or repair before a new floor goes down so it installs flat and lasts.
Stairs
Stairs require more detailed cutting and finishing per step than flat floor space, especially for hardwood and carpet.
Furniture moving
Moving furniture in and out of the work area can be arranged and is factored into your estimate.
Pattern and waste
Diagonal layouts, herringbone, borders and large-format tile create more material waste and require more precise cuts.
